Hiulshad Shakhkaldiieva is a senior associate at DEGA Partners specialising in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, brand protection and legal support of Ukrainian and international companies. She has experience in the pre-trial settlement of disputes over the unlawful use of trademarks, protection of copyright, domain names and business reputation, as well as in combating counterfeit products and unfair competition. She advises companies on developing and implementing brand protection strategies on the Ukrainian market, in particular in distribution, e-commerce and dealings with online platforms. She handles matters of parallel imports, the use of customs mechanisms to protect intellectual property and responses to infringements of intellectual property rights. A separate area of her practice is intellectual property protection in the digital environment, including the unlawful use of trademarks on websites and marketplaces, domain name disputes and infringements in online trade.
